Final Diagnosis
A. Uterus, cervix, and bilateral fallopian tubes, total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy:
Benign endometrial polyp.
Benign secretory endometrium.
Benign cervix with no significant pathologic alterations.
Bilateral benign fallopian tubes with no significant pathologic alterations.
Negative for atypia or malignancy.

Gross Description
Collection, fixation and prep date of September 16, 2025.

A. Specimen container labelled ( Bailey Kane Brosseau) UTERUS, CERVIX AND BILATERAL FALLOPIAN TUBES. Prepped at 1558. Received in formalin is a total hysterectomy specimen with bilateral, separately submitted, unoriented fallopian tubes. The hysterectomy specimen is 9.3 x 5 x 4.7 cm and weighs 119 g. The uterine corpus is symmetrical. It is covered by mainly glistening tan serosa, however, there is a 2.2 x 1.7 cm focally roughened area at the left anterior aspect of the corpus.

The cervix is 3.5 cm in length by 3.3 cm in diameter with a 0.9 cm slitlike os. The triangular endometrial cavity is 2.8 x 4 cm and lined by tan endometrium with a thickness of up to 0.3 cm. At the posterior lower uterine segment/upper endocervical canal is a 0.5 x 0.3 x 0.1 cm fleshy tan polyp. The myometrium is up to 2.5 cm in greatest thickness and appears tan and trabeculated with no lesions identified grossly.

The first fimbriated fallopian tube is 3 x 0.5 cm with a glistening tan serosa. The second fimbriated fallopian tube is 3.2 x 0.5 cm with a glistening tan serosa.

Sampled as follows:
A1-section from the roughened area of left anterior serosa
A2-anterior cervix
A3-posterior cervix
A4-anterior endomyometrium
A5 and A6-full-thickness posterior endomyometrium
A7-endometrial polyp submitted in total
A8-representative sections of the first fallopian tube
A9-representative sections of the second fallopian tube
